Our story

Cakewalk was founded by Johannes, Gon and Gil — a team that had lived the problem from every angle. Johannes had launched an SSO and data-compliance platform spanning 30M+ identities and fell for identity management along the way, knowing what it takes to manage a startup AND the security space it sits in. Gil had run GDPR, ISO 27001, MaRisk and BaFin audits at Klarna and found the tooling dreadful, passionate to built something better, and bringing his vision with a love for detail to life. Gon had spent over a decade building in cybersecurity and fintech, where security and compliance can't be an afterthought. When starting Cakewalk he knew: building a startup in this space requires thorough and complex coding. So he had one condition: bringing his entire team of software engineers with him. A team he has worked with for a decade is now the backbone of Cakewalk and the reason shipping features is incredibly fast and thought-through.
